The Galaxy Railways continues Leiji Matsumoto's romantic vision of a future in which 19th-century-style trains link star systems. Following the example of his heroic father and brother, Manabu Yuuki joins the Space Defense Force (SDF), charged with defending the interstellar railways. He fights hijackers and pirates, and rescues a man from a ghost train. The dramatic animation of glittering engines hurtling through space retains its appeal, even if a train whistling and puffing steam in a vacuum violates the laws of physics. A bigger problem is the general lack of originality. Manabu's dashing father is a Captain Harlock look-alike, and SDF commander Layla Destiny Shula bears more than a passing resemblance to Maetel, Emeraldas, and other Matsumoto heroines. The storylines feel equally recycled. Extras include a brief interview with Matsumoto, scenes from the Japanese recording sessions, and the usual character profiles. Sherlock Holmes - The Last Vampyre - Free Movie Clips

This two-hour, overblown adaptation of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's short story "The Adventure of the Sussex Vampire" was perhaps the most ill-advised of Granada Television's Sherlock Holmes series. Entirely contrary to the tone and spirit of Doyle's tale--which finds Holmes victoriously pitting his well-grounded deductive powers against irrational fears of a rise in bloodsucking--The Last Vampyre is something of an embarrassment to the largely wonderful legacy of Granada's earlier efforts. (For the record, most of the creative executives who, along with star Jeremy Brett, had made the beloved series what it was in the 1980s were replaced by 1992, the year of this film.) In this version, Holmes does battle with a Draculalike fellow who may or may not be the real McCoy. There is a great deal of padding to fill out the story to feature length, and it is mostly silly. So, you ask, is there anything to recommend this? Well, there is the ailing Brett's ever-fascinating performance, which deviates from Doyle's vision of the detective hero toward something darker and more personal. Edward Hardwicke does his usual warm and capable work as Dr. Watson. --Tom Keogh

Wow! I really loved the movie Sherlock Holmes - The Last Vampyre. The movie is absolutely stunning with top-notch graphics and visuals while Jeremy Brett deliver some award-winning performances in this movie.

I also think Edward Hardwicke was great! The visuals and graphics make for some very realistic on screen special-effects but that is the beauty of the movie.When the movie wants to be funny it is funny, the same is true for when the movie needs to deliver its scary aspects.
